Mind of Spirit

Welcome to the Mind of Spirit blog.

Since “Mind of Spirit” is the title of this website, I thought it fitting to begin these posts by defining what I mean by it.

Mind of Spirit is a phrase I use to connote our natural, spiritual state of creative consciousness. It’s that state in which we are free of reactivity and feel at ease, alert, open-minded, energized, and above all, able to think and act toward greater good.

Attaining the Mind of Spirit state could be viewed as a desirable goal in and of itself, simply because being in it feels good. Knowing that it is our natural, spiritual state of consciousness, however, lends itself to a higher purpose: higher purpose itself.

Creative consciousness is our divine DNA. It’s how we are made in the “image and likeness of God.” It is out of this state that we love and care for self and others, work skillfully, bring about greater societal good, create beauty, and maintain clean, well-functioning environments.

From my perspective, attaining, maintaining and, when necessary, restoring Mind of Spirit is the work of walking the spiritual path. It isn’t the destination. It’s how we get closer and closer to the destination.

So how do we do this?

We seek the wisdom of spiritual teachers and mystics. We adopt spiritual practices. We immerse ourselves in nature, serve others, create and appreciate art, hone and express our skills and talents. We examine and modify our thoughts and behaviors with honesty, humility, and self-compassion.

We know we’re on the right path when the practices we choose reliably bring us into this state of consciousness, this state of being in sync with Source.

In this website, I hope to share with you some of the knowledge, information, tools, practices and resources that have been helpful to me in cultivating Mind of Spirit along my own spiritual journey.
